Prussia. An Imperial Submarine (U-Boot) Badge with its Matching Submarine

(U-Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilt bronze; consisting of an oval laurel wreath, and an Imperial crown and the top of the badge, with a submarine superimposed on the centre of the badge; horizontal pinback, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; an unmarked example; measuring 47.69 mm (w) x 45.54 mm (h); weighing 19.7 grams. With its matching stick pin; measuring 16 mm (w) x 14 mm (h), with a 38 mm long pin; in overall better than very fine condition.
