CARVER", maker marked "JAW & Co", marked with an anchor (made in Birmingham), the British lion and date marked "M" (1936) on the reverse, measuring 27.7 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), with four silver clasps dated "1937, 1938, 1939, 1940" respectively, on its original ribbon, suspended from a hanger with pinback dated "1936");
3. Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Drivers Award for 10 Years Safe Driving with Four Clasps (two-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with red enamels, recipient engraved "J. CARVER" on the reverse, measuring 32.5 mm (w) x 37 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, with four silvered bronze oak leaf clasps dated "1942, 1943, 1944, 1945" respectively, on its original ribbon, suspended from a hanger with pinback dated "1941"). Footnote: James Carver was with the Royal Engineers when he entered the French theatre on January 19, 1915. In addition to the Victory Medal, he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, however, it is noted on his Index Card that he was not awarded the British War Medal.
