Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV advancing over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, marked with the logo of an unidentified maker consisting of initials “AS” within a triangular border, measuring 42.90 mm (w) x 63.18 mm (h), weighing 30.7 grams, with some oxidation and loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
