(Георгиевский крест, 3-й степени). Instituted February 1807 by Tsar Alexander I. (1807-1917 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central raised depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, the reverse bearing a central raised disc with Cyrillic characters “СГ” (“SG”) as the saint’s monogram, the three and nine o’clock arms etched with a number of “184111”, the six o’clock arm bearing an inscription of “3 СТЕП” (“3RD CLASS”), the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a suspension ring with a pentagonal backplate and period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 34.14 mm (w) x 40.57 mm (h), weighing 13.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon and backer), with minor wear evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
