Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal of 1915

Constructed of patinated zink, consisting of a five-pointed star with each arm completing in a ball finial, the obverse with a red painted finish, bearing a central raised monogram of Sultan Mehmed V set within a crescent moon, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 56.56 mm (w) x 54.36 mm (h), weighing 24.0 grams, the catch has been replaced, in overall very fine condition.
