Germany, HJ. A 1938 Regional Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, by Gustav Brehmer

(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1938). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a white enameled disc bearing an inscription of “KREISSIEGER” (“REGIONAL VICTOR”) and a date of “1938”, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching an enameled HJ insignia on top of a cogwheel, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 49.08 mm (w) x 46.94 mm (h), weighing 27.9 grams, with some oxidation and cracking of enamels evident, in very fine condition.
