Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Orth, Vienna, measuring 42.10 mm (w) x 60.20 mm (h), weighing 38.9 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing a LDO logo and stamped mark of “PANZERKAMPFABZEICHEN SILBER”, measuring 58 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), in near mint condition.
