Germany, Luftwaffe. A Rare Barometer by Rudolf Fuess

(Luftwaffe Barometer). A rare and well-preserved Luftwaffe barometer, constructed of an aluminum and non-ferrous metal casing, the face with a glass cover 116 mm in diameter, featuring an outer red dial graded from 500 to 2400 measuring milibars, around an inner black dial graded from 0.6 to 2.5 measuring altitude, with a single black hand, featuring four black magnetic metal rivets for attachment to a wooden case which has since been lost, the rivets in turn held in place by magnetic metal nuts visible on the reverse, the face maker marked “R. FUESS, BERLIN-STEGLITZ” with a serial number of “1335675”, the reverse with an additional stamped number of “245”, measuring 215 mm (w) x 220 mm (h), the functionality of the barometer is unknown, in an overall better than very fine condition.
