Slovakia, Republic. A Slovak Army Cavalry Picture Frame, 1943

In silvered metal, magnetic, consisting of a 110 mm (w) x 125 mm (h) horseshoe-shaped frame housing a black and white photograph that has faded to a sepia-toned look, the photograph illustrating three helmeted Slovakian cavalryman side-by-side on horseback during a parade, the photograph under glass, the ends of the horseshoe bearing the letters "F" on the left and "K" on the right, the head of a horse positioned at the mouth of the horseshoe, the reverse of the frame with a plate that is secured in place by three screws, the frame mounted to a bracket that is centred on a post that protrudes from an art deco-style pedestal bearing the date "1943", the pedestal swivelling versus the 75 mm (w) x 112 mm (h) rectangular base, with black felt affixed to the underside of the base, at a total height of 190 mm and weighing 1 kilogram. Very fine.
