Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.28 mm (w) x 53.76 mm (h), weighing 32.1 grams, with sporadic loss of finish evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
