A two-piece construction badge constructed of tombac, the border is a half oak leaf and half laurel wreath, the centre is cut out and a spread winged patinated eagle in flight clutching a swastika in its talons is superimposed on the centre , wings extending past the wreathed border, the reverse is plain and bears a barrel hinge vertical pinback with round wire catch and two rivets where the eagle is attached to the obverse, the reverse is maker marked “BSW” inside a three-leaf clover leaf (indicating Brüder Schneider, Wien), measuring 65.86 mm (w) x 53.30 mm (h), weighing 43.1 g, very fine.
