Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central depiction of a coastal artillery gun with its barrel raised over a background of waves, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Hermann Aurich, Dresden measuring 41.46 mm (w) x 53.85 mm (h), weighing 21.5 grams, with loss of finish evident throughout, in overall fair condition.
