Footnote: Corporal Charles B. Shaw (43575) served with the Royal Field Artillery during the First World War. He entered the French theatre on December 29, 1914 and was later promoted to Acting Sergeant. For his First World War service, he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
