Germany, Kriegsmarine. An EM/NCO’s M41 Tropical Field Cap

(Kriegsmarine Tropeneinheitsfelmütze). This is a very well-preserved Kriegsmarine EM/NCO’s M41 tropical field cap, constructed of tan-coloured ribbed cotton twill with gently sloping stitching running down the side panels towards a scalloped front. The top is flanked on each side by dual reinforced ventilation grommets. The cap also features a visor extending outwards from the front, constructed of matching cotton twill with internal cardboard support. The interior of the cap has a complete forest green cotton liner stitched into place with tan-coloured thread. The cap is unmarked and measures approximately 198 mm (w) x 252 mm (l) x 72 mm (h). The cardboard visor insert has been cracked in the centre, and there is some minor soiling of the interior and exterior cotton, but the cap is in an otherwise very fine condition.
