Germany, Third Reich. A Schwäbischer Beobachter Street Sign

(Schwäbischer Beobachter Straßenschild). A rare Schwäbischer Beobachter (Swabian Observer) street sign, constructed of pressed aluminum, the obverse featuring a glossed painted red finish, bearing a raised inscription of “SCHWÄBISCHER BEOBACHTER” in Fraktur script, flanked on the left by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above an inscription of “NATIONALSOZIALISTISCHE TAGESZEITUNG ANNAHMESTELLE FÜR ANZEIGEN UND ABONNEMENT” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST DAILY NEWSPAPER - ACCEPTANCE POINT FOR ADVERTISEMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS”), with each corner perforated with a hole for rivet attachment, measuring 390 mm (w) x 300 mm (h), minor loss of paint is evident to the obverse, a rare sign in near extremely fine condition.
