Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by C.E. Juncker

(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed sword and bayonet, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with acorns, the centrepiece retaining its magnetic metal backplate, the reverse with a flat wire catch, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, measuring 96.84 mm (w) x 25.72 mm (h), weighing 26.4 grams, the clasp is missing its hinge and pinback and demonstrates oxidation and total loss of finish, in overall poor condition.
