Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe/DLV Miniature Letter Opener

(Luftwaffe/DLV Brieföffner). A well-preserved Luftwaffe/DRL-style miniature letter opener, constructed of a polished and silvered bronze alloy. Measuring 240 mm in total length, it features a 165 mm-long tapering blade with a sharpened tip. The blade sits securely within a curved and ribbed crossguard, while the handle is composed of a rounded and ribbed grip. It completes with a rounded pommel, each side of which bears a raised and gilded sunwheel-style mobile swastika. Unmarked, the letter opener shows minor scratching and loss of finish, but is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
