(Bayern Feldbinde für Offiziere). An exceptionally well-preserved Bavarian Officer’s brocade and buckle, the former constructed of a reinforced smooth blue wool underlay, the exterior bearing a silver aluminum wire tresse with two machine-embroidered light blue threaded bands, with dual sliding knots of identical composition, one end of the reverse affixed with a black leather tongue featuring nine bronze eyelets for an adjustable fit, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 890 mm (l), the opposite end retaining a period original buckle, constructed of silvered and polished bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised Bavarian crown, set within a circular laurel leaf wreath, the reverse with dual buckles, unmarked with the exception of a D.R.G.M. logo with code “246570”, measuring 48 mm in diameter, a rare example of a brocade and buckle set presenting without evident faults and in an extremely fine condition.
