A patriotic badge constructed of three oak leaves bearing the name KARL I., reverse maker marked ARKANZAS BUDAPEST IV. VACI UTCA 23, reverse presents a horizontal pin assembly, measuring 35.91 mm (w) x 32.66 mm (h), and in good condition. An 11th Army cap badge, by Bildhauer Gurschner Wien VII./2, the obverse presents Franz Joseph I and Wilhelm II, inscribed 1914 WELTKRIEG 1915 MIT VEREINTER KRAFT 11.ARMEE (1914 WORLD WAR 1915 JOINED TOGETHER IN STRENGTH! 11TH ARMY), reverse presents vertical pin assembly and maker mark, measuring 25.88 mm (w) x 36.52 mm (h), and in good condition. A circular badge constructed of a red painted centre circle bordered by a black ring, reverse presents a horizontal pinback, maker marked GEBRUDER SCHNEIDER WIEN, measures 35.91 mm in diameter, paint worn off on centre, and in good condition.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
