Germany, Third Reich. A German Equestrian Badge, III Class in Bronze, by L. Christian Lauer

(Deutsches Reiterabzeichen, III. Klasse in Bronze). Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a stylized belt and buckle around a raised letter “R”, with a central depiction of a mounted horse, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 42.07 mm (w) x 52.02 mm (h), weighing 16.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
