Germany, SS. A SS EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(SS Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, set within a ribbed wreath bearing a raised inscription of “MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE” (“MY HONOUR IS LOYALTY”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “155/40” for F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some loss of finish evident, in better than very fine condition.
