WWI 5th Mounted Rifle Battalion Pin - Two-piece construction, in GOLD and enamels, marked "9C" and maker marked "C.A & S." on the reverse of the leaf and "9CT" on the pin, weighing 2.3 grams, very crisp detail, insignia measures 16 mm x 16.8 mm on a 44.2 mm bar with pinback, slight enamel chipping, extremely fine. Footnote: Organized in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on March 15, 1915, the 5th Mounted Rifle Battalion served in France and Holland. It was disbanded on November 15, 1920.
