Germany, Heer. A Heer EM/NCO’s Tropical Belt Buckle

(Heer Tropen Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of a tan-coloured magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed wreath bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”) and oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, the latter retaining a period original length of canvas belt, unmarked, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with oxidation and loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
