Germany, Third Reich. A German Olympic Commemorative Medal

(Deutsche Olympia-Erinnerungsmedaille). Instituted 1 July 1936. (1936-1937). Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with clasp, the obverse bearing a central Olympic column, topped by rings, and overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936”, unmarked, measuring 37.00 mm in diameter, weighing 20.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon and clasp), in near extremely fine condition.
