(Ordine Equestre di Saint' Agata ). Instituted 1923. In silver gilt with red, white, green and light blue enamels, handpainted centrepiece on the obverse, maker marked with a fasces flanked by the maker's assigned number ""25"" (Alberti & C.) on the left and the province code ""MI"" (Milan) on the right within a lozenge and marked ""950"" (silver) on the edge of the arm at 6 o'clock, measuring 49 mm (w) x 54.2 mm (h), without ribbon; and Breast Star: In silver gilt with red, white and green enamels, handpainted centrepiece on the obverse, maker marked ""ALBERTI & C. Co Vitt. Em. 17. MILANO"" on the reverse cartouche, measuring 79.5 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs. Scattered chipping evident in the green enamels of the wreath on the reverse of the Badge and on the Breast Star, near extremely fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
