(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, with black and white ribbon, measuring 42.63 mm (w) x 46.53 mm (h), weighing 19.1 grams, very fine.

A document dated 22 March 1934 to Corporal Wilhelm Krug confirming that he was awarded the 1914 Iron Cross II Class at the end of December 1914. The document is stamped and signed, presenting two folding creases with minimal creasing, discolouration and scuffing. Measuring 210 mm (w) x 150 mm (h), very fine.
