(Militär-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original bowtie-style ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with a central inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”), inside a laurel leaf wreath, the reverse with a monogram of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III, unmarked, measuring 32.29 mm in diameter, weighing 26.7 grams, in very fine condition.
