Germany, Third Reich. A 1940/41 German Shooting Federation Honour Plaque

(Deutscher Schützenbund Ehrenplakette). Constructed of a wooden base, the obverse bearing a bronzed bakelite applique consisting of a wreathed German Shooting Federation insignia, overlaid by an inscription of “DEM BESTEN SCHÜTZEN” (“TO THE BEST MARKSMEN”), topped by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, flanked by dates “1940-1941”, the reverse with a magnetic metal suspension loop, unmarked, measuring 106 mm (w) x 145 mm (h), with minor loss of finish evident to the applique, in overall near extremely fine condition.
