Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with clasp and horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of a finely-detailed Spanish eagle, its chest overlaid by a Falange insignia overlaid by a black enameled Iron Cross, set over top of a circular laurel leaf wreath, topped by a double-sided royal crown, the reverse depicting a raised Novgorod Kremlin above an inscription of “RUSIA 1941”, set within a circular chain link wreath, unmarked, measuring 35.26 mm (w) x 48.71 mm (h), weighing 29.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux red leather exterior, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a blue rayon medal bed, with a metal spring catch activated by an exterior stud release, rendered inoperable by the loss of the hinge, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 116 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), with material fatigue evident to the case in addition to the loss of the hinge, the decoration in extremely fine condition.
