(Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuz, Kreuze I. Klasse). Instituted 30 January 1934. (1934-1937 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse bearing a raised black enameled DRK-style German national eagle, overlaid by a DRK insignia and with feathering highlighted in gilt, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original shortened neck ribbon, unmarked, measuring 53.53 x 58.36 mm (h), weighing 38.8 grams, with some flecking of the enamels and a small chip to the corner of the obverse nine o’clock arm, in very fine condition.
