Germany, Wehrmacht. An Eastern People’s Award, II Class in Gold with Swords

(Ostvolkmedaille, II. Klasse in Gold mit Schwertern). Constructed of gilded zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, with a central rosette set within a circular laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords through the centrepiece, unmarked, measuring 39.82 mm (w) x 44.80 mm (h), weighing 9.3 grams, with loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
