Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle clutching a wreated mobile swastika, overlaying an Olympic column topped by rings, flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF 1936”), measuring 37.09 mm in diameter, weighing 18.4 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux white leather exterior liner, the lid bearing gilt Olympic rings, the interior with a grey rayon lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a depressed grey velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), the medal displays some oxidation and there is minor material fatigue evident to the case, in overall very fine condition.
