Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from a magnetic metal chain with a loop for button suspension, the obverse of the disc bearing a stamped number “54”, circumscribed by an inscription of “BAHNKRIMINALPOLIZEI ESSEN” (“RAILWAY CRIMINAL POLICE ESSEN”), the reverse bearing a raised Bahnschutzpolizei (Railway Protection Police) insignia in the form of a winged wheel overlaying a radiant star, unmarked, measuring 46 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
