(Ordin "Corona Romaniei"). Instituted in 1881. Type II (1932-1947). In silvered bronze with red and white enamels, gilt cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 37.7 mm (w) x 56.8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, tiny chips evident in the white enamels on the reverse centrepiece ring, otherwise the enamels are intact, on an original ribbon with hook and eye, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order established on March 14, 1881 by King Carol I of Romania, to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947 and was revived on December 30, 2011 as a dynastic order. The order had five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
