Romania, Kingdom. An Order of the Star, V Class Knight, Military Division, c.1940

(Ordin "Steaua Romaniei"). Instituted in 1877. Type II (1932-1947). In silver with red, green and blue enamels, gilt cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 41 mm (w) x 63 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, tiny chips in the green enamels of the wreath on the reverse centrepiece ring, otherwise the enamels are intact, on a 1932-1938 original ribbon with hook and eye, better than very fine.

Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania is Romania's highest civil Order and second highest State decoration after the defunct Order of Michael the Brave. It was originally awarded in six grades: Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
