(Schreibtisch Adler). An ornate and well-preserved Third Reich-era desk eagle, constructed of a silvered zink alloy. It consists of a finely-detailed German eagle with its wings fully extended, perched on top of a circular oak leaf wreath set around a mobile swastika on a hollow background. The eagle and wreath are in turn affixed to a pedestal constructed of a lacquered black composite oval. A black felt liner on the bottom of the base mitigates surface scratching. A single rivet secures the fixture in place, hidden by the liner. Unmarked, it measures 400 mm (w) x 170 mm (l) x 285 mm (h) overall. There are minor spots of oxidation and loss of finish evident to the eagle, but it is in an overall extremely fine condition.
