A rare award document for an Order of the German Eagle, Merit Medal with Swords, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to “DON ELIAS LUIS CASTRO”, issued in Berlin on 5 June 1939, featuring a facsimile signature of Staatsminister Otto Meissner and an embossed stamp of the Chef der Ordenskanzlei, measuring 210 mm (w) x 298 mm (h), accompanied by two unused certifications of receipt in both German and Spanish, each measuring 210 mm (w) x 295 mm (h), contained within the main document’s original folio, constructed of off-white card stock, the cover bearing a gilt NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 220 mm (w) x 305 mm (h), in turn contains within a period original card stock folio bearing a hand written name of “CABO DON ELIAS LUIS CASTRO” on the exterior, measuring 235 mm (w) x 328 mm (h), with a single crease visible to the upper right corner of the primary award document and age-appropriate material fatigue visible to the outer folio, in overall extremely fine condition.
