Germany, RAD. A Reich Labour Service Long Service Medal, IV Class for 4 Years, Women’s Version

(Dienstauszeichnung Reichsarbeitsdienst IV. Klasse für Frauen). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1943 issue). Constructed of a bronze alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original bow tie ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised RAD insignia in the form of a mobile swastika within wheat stalks, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH LABOUR SERVICE”), measuring 32.46 mm (w) x 44.50 mm (w), weighing 10.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
