Germany, Luftwaffe. A Radio Operator and Air Gunner Badge, by Wilhelm Deumer

(Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordfunker). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “W. DEUMER, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 44.03 mm (w) x 53.58 mm (h), weighing 26.2 grams, with loss of finish evident throughout, in very fine condition.
