Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 42.92 mm (w) x 53.91 mm (h), weighing 35.3 grams, the badge is missing its catch and the silver finish has been lost throughout, in fair condition.
