Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with Luftwaffe device, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised number “18”, unmarked, measuring 35.98 mm (w) x 39.35 mm (h), weighing 14.8 grams, the cross demonstrates oxidation resulting in an irregular patina and the obverse of the ribbon shows fading consistent with lengthy display in sunlight, in overall fair condition.
