Germany, Luftwaffe. An Ashtray

(Luftwaffe Aschenbecher). A unique Luftwaffe ashtray, constructed of coppered bronze, consisting of a base with a narrow tray and two slots, flanked by a pedestal bearing raised oak leaves, topped by a raised figures wearing a finely-detailed Luftwaffe Officer’s uniform complete with visor cap, clutching an airplane propeller in his left arm, the base revealing a rivet securing the figure in place, bearing a raised mark of “N110”, measuring 106 mm (w) x 104 mm (l) x 145 mm (h), the tray demonstrating singeing consistent with use, while loss of finish is evident throughout and the figure has slightly loosened while remaining firmly attached, in overall very fine condition.
