(Reichskriegsflagge). A well-preserved Reichskriegsflagge (National War Flag), constructed of a heavy cotton-blended base, bearing a double-sided scheme consisting of a black and white Nordic Cross, joined together by an off-centre white disc overlaid by a black mobile swastika with ribbed arms, with the upper hoist corner bearing a black Iron Cross with ribbed arms, set on a field of red in the style of the NSDAP national flag, reinforced along the three outer edges with multiple rows of machine stitching to mitigate fraying while raised, with the edge featuring an additional layer of which cotton with a hollow core through which was formerly looped a drawstring, stamped onto the upper corner of the hoist edge reinforcement is a black ink letter “M” topped by a Wehrmacht eagle indicating Kriegsmarine issue, a maker’s mark of “LOH. KR-FL” for an unconfirmed but common manufacturer of National War Flags, and dimensions of “150 x 250” indicating the flag’s size in centimeters, it demonstrates minor soiling and wear consistent with age and light usage, the latter including sporadic small holes which do not compromise the flag’s appearance or structural integrity, in overall very fine condition.
