Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot & Observer Badge in Aluminum, by C.E. Juncker

(Flugzeugführer- und Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of a gilded oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a silvered swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a third rivet visible through the obverse of the wreath holding the pinback in place, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, measuring 66.60 mm (w) x 53.23 mm (h), weighing 10.6 grams, with period wartime repair to catch, in extremely fine condition.
