France, III Republic. A Miniature Order of the Academic Palms with Diamonds

(Ordre des Palmes Académiques, Officier). Instituted in 1808. In silver and purple enamels, along with fifteen white and four purple inset stones, measuring 13.5 mm (w) x 21.7 mm (h), intact enamels and stones, light contact, near extremely fine. In a hardshelled case with a black velvetine medal bed, scuffed on the bottom, case better than very fine.
