Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.82 mm (w) x 53.93 mm (h), with loss of finish and minor oxidation evident, in very fine condition.
