(Kaitseliidu Valgerist). Instituted in 1929. Four-piece construction, insignia in silver and gilt bronze with blue enamels, mounted to a cross base in bronze gilt with white enamels, measuring 38.5 mm (w) x 45.5 mm (h), intact enamels, sunned original ribbon with safety pin attachment, extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The White Cross Order of the Home Guard was instituted on June 19, 1929, becoming a national award on October 7, 1936. It was awarded for distinguished services to the defence of Estonia, in three grades. The award was reinstated in 1991.
