Germany, Third Reich. A Rare Frontbann Badge

(Frontbannabzeichen). A rare Frontbann badge, constructed of a silvered bronze alloy, the obverse consisting of a swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by a central raised transitional Stahlhelm, with the arms bearing an inscription of “WIR WOLLEN FREI WERDEN” (“WE WANT TO BE FREE”) in stylized script, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, marked “Z.M. OST” for the NSDAP Zeugmeisterei Ost, measuring 20.90 mm (w) x 20.74 mm (h), a desirable badge in extremely fine condition.
