Lübeck, Free City. A Cross of Merit, II Class

(Verdienstkreuz, II Klasse) An iron cross paty constructed of silver-plated non-magnetic metal, the obverse bears the Lübeck coat of arms in red and white enamel, inscribed with “LANDESKRIEGERVERBAND LÜBECK” (STATE WARRIORS ASSOCIATION LÜBECK), the obverse centre bears the inscription “Für Verdienst im KriegervereinsWesen” (For merit in the warrior association”, an oak leaf wreath lays in the quadrants between the cross arms, with suspension ring, measuring 44.39 mm (w) x 48.16 mm (h), on a red and white striped ribbon with material fatigue, very fine.
