Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by Friedrich Linden

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink with brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.96 mm (w) x 53.05 mm (h), weighing 38.5 grams, with most of the silver finish lost, in near extremely fine condition.
